FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE MUSIQUE CLASSIQUE DINARD

FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DE MUSIQUE CLASSIQUE DINARD

03 Sep 25

International Classical Music Festival from October 28 to November 1

In 2025, from October 28 to November 1, the city will vibrate in the heart of autumn to the rhythm of musical notes and emotions. For five days, the festival will offer a rich and varied program, celebrating the many colors of the season. Evening concerts, meetings, and musical events will punctuate this 36th edition, in several emblematic locations of Dinard. Festival-goers will have the opportunity to attend five major evening concerts, true journeys to the heart of classical music, but also to enjoy more intimate moments throughout the day. True to its spirit, the festival continues to offer a wide diversity of styles and the opportunity to discover new talents, thus confirming its essential place in the Breton musical landscape.

The Journey to Andalusia: CAR/MEN , ballet by the Chicos Mambo company. It is the end of the season and the beginning of autumn at the Seville bullring. The fate of the young and fierce Carmen is decided between the star bullfighter Escamillo and the brigadier Don José… The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of the creation of Georges Bizet's Carmen , which has become one of the two most performed operas in the world. To celebrate the event, the Dinard Festival invites you to discover the bold and joyful reinterpretation imagined by choreographer Philippe Lafeuille and his company Chicos Mambo. Eight dancers and one singer pay homage with modernity and fantasy to the most independent woman in the history of opera!

Journey through time: Early music fairs : the young musicians of the Compagnie Sensible have undertaken the original project of reviving the atmosphere of the salons of the early 20th century – a time, as little is known, when music was beginning to be replayed on old instruments. The four musicians of the company – some of them instrumentalists and singers – invite us into an imaginary salon where songs from the 16th to the 20th century intersect… from Couperin to Berlioz, from Duplhy to Ravel…

A Winter Journey: Noëmi Waysfeld and Guillaume de Chassy : The music of Franz Schubert will be a common thread throughout this edition, evoking the nostalgia of autumn and leading us to the gates of winter. At the heart of the festival, singer Noëmi Waysfeld will offer her very personal reinterpretation of the famous Winterreise cycle, accompanied by jazz pianist Guillaume de Chassy. Coming from a traditional music background, with a unique timbre, Noëmi passionately explores the classical repertoire as well as the world of Barbara, to whom she has just dedicated a symphonic album. Here, she offers a unique dramaturgy of the work: Echoing the popular roots omnipresent in Schubert's music, the artists approach Winterreise as a suite of love songs of apparent simplicity.

The Beautiful Journey: An Evening of French Operetta : This is an evening of good humor, designed in partnership with the Génération Opéra association. Offenbach, Messager, Reynaldo Hahn: the opportunity to hear the most jubilant pages of the operetta interpreted by three great voices of the new lyrical generation: Camille Chopin (soprano), Léontine Maridat-Zimmerlin (mezzo-soprano) and the tenor Kaëlig Boché.

Journey to the End of the Night : The festival will end with an ode to the night and its many facets. The Voce Quartet , cellist Pierre Fontenelle, pianistJodyline Gallavardin, joined by Noëmi Waysfeld, will come together to perform the most moving pieces of Franz Schubert's chamber music – from the celebrated trio opus 100 to the Quartet Death and the Maiden – , bringing them into resonance with works by composers with a poetic affinity for the Viennese master. A sort of initiatory journey from the last glimmers of an autumnal sunset to the deepest night, then, perhaps, the first signs of dawn.

In addition to these evenings , the 6 p.m. concerts will allow us to meet some of these performers in other repertoires; a tasting concert will bring together Pierre Fontenelle and master sommelier Christian Stevanin , and an introduction to opera will be offered to the youngest. The Mélisme(s) Chamber Choir will offer a superb family program, The Night Washerwomen , ideal for a Halloween afternoon. Finally, after drawing last year, cinema will be the guest discipline for the 2025 edition, with the presence of Stéphane Lerouge, a film music connoisseur. He will notably participate in a concert around the composers of the New Wave in collaboration with the pianist Guillaume de Chassy.

Clos de la Fontaine Dinard, le marché à 400M

Clos de la Fontaine Dinard, le marché à 400M

05 Dec 23

Dinard market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings

What a pretty market and you can go there on foot from Clos de la Fontaine (around 400m)!

It is good to linger there and take the time to hunt for some good products. It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful markets in the region.

Around the market halls , which are open every morning of the week, many merchants come to sell clothes, groceries, crafts, fruits and vegetables, meat, fish and seafood.

The little culinary extras: a coffee or a small white wine at the Café des Anges, a sausage galette to take away (the best in my opinion is the one from Pleudihen), rillettes from Lepage sous les halles, or mussels a la plancha at the Morisseau workshop.

Practical information:

Les Halles de la Concorde : 18 traders every morning from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (except school holidays, not all traders are present on Monday morning)

Large market around the Halles de La Concorde:

  • From September 1 to December 31:

    • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

    • Saturday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • From July 1 to August 31:

    • Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    • Nearly 300 traders gather on the Halle esplanade during the season.
