In this article I give you some ideas for beautiful hikes in Dinard and Saint Malo. At Clos de la Fontaine vacation rentals you will find a personalized notebook containing these itineraries and other visiting tips. These three hikes can be done starting from Clos de la Fontaine on foot.

A loop from Dinard to St Malo and return by boat (12.5km or 3h30)

For this loop which allows you to discover the entire bay between Dinard and St Malo, I suggest you start directly from Clos de la Fontaine vacation rentals. You leave around 10 a.m. and go down the ""Clair de Lune"" path, you follow the Prieuré beach towards the Pointe de la Vicomté. You take the trail to the Pointe de la Vicomté which is nicely wooded and offers a beautiful view of St Servan up to the Rance dam.

You cross the Rance dam and enter the Briantais park and follow the coast to St Servan and Solidor cove (recognizable by its tower). You should arrive at Solidor around 12:30 p.m. You will find many restaurants facing the sea to take your lunch break.

I recommend the "Solid'or creperie", "la Cale" if you want seafood or "le Bulot" (bistronomic cuisine).

For the end of the hike you can go around the "Cité d'Aleth", an ancient Gallo-Roman town, fortress in the Middle Ages, then German fortification. You can also take a shortcut and go directly to the port of Bas Sablons.

From there you reach Saint Malo intramuros where you can spend the afternoon before taking the boat back to Dinard which takes you directly to the ""Clair de Lune"" path not far from Clos de la Fontaine vacation rentals.

The villas of Dinard and the village of Saint Enogat (10km or 2h30)

This loop from Clos de la Fontaine vacation rentals allows you to see the most beautiful Dinard villas and visit the village of Saint Enogat.

Starting from Clos de la Fontaine vacation rentals, you go down to the Clair de Lune path and follow it towards the north. You will be able to admire its villas and lush gardens which give it a riviera feel. Arriving at the fishermen's port you will be able to go around the Pointe du Moulinet which houses some of the largest villas in Dinard. You can either follow the coastal path or stay on high ground in the event of a high tide.

You will then cross the Ecluse beach and join the coastal path which passes under the villas of the Pointe de la Malouine with the emblematic "villa Roches Brunes" which often hosts exhibitions in the summer. All along the coastal path to Saint Enogat beach you will be dominated by magnificent British-style villas.

In Saint Enogat I invite you to visit the small village which is charming and was the cradle of Dinard. If you are a little hungry, you will find two bakeries and a very good seafood brasserie "Pic à Bulot".

When leaving St Enogat I recommend that you pass by its small cemetery with its old-fashioned charm with beautiful funeral chapels where many of the personalities who contributed to creating Dinard are buried (The Faber couple, developers of the seaside Dinard; the Poussineau family, behind the construction of the Pointe de la Malouine; Claude Rousseau, innovative entrepreneur, father of the Fantomas flying DS; Fernand de Rodays, director of Le Figaro and promoter of Pointe du Décollé; Judith Gauthier, lyrical show host)

I then invite you to walk above the coast towards Villa les Roches Brunes via the "boulevard de la mer" you will have a very nice view from the park of "Port Riou" then a little before the villa "Roches Brunes".

You will arrive again at the "Ecluse beach" where you can join the town center or the Clair de Lune promenade to return to Clos de la Fontaine vacation rentals.

Saint Malo tour of the ramparts (2km) and the Sillon villas (6km round trip)

From Clos de la Fontaine vacation rentals, go to one of the piers located on Chemin du Clair de Lune. Two companies offer the boat crossing (Corsaire or Bateaux Rouges) which takes around 10 minutes.

The high wall which surrounds the city of Saint-Malo forms a loop of approximately two kilometers. It is possible to go down and back up wherever you want, from the different staircases located at each door. You will have magnificent views of Dinard and the islets of the bay as well as the port of Saint Malo.

With the boat you will arrive at Porte de Dinan where you can begin the tour of the ramparts.

If you have the courage and don't get caught up in the many shops and restaurants of Saint Malo you can reach the Sillon which is a long dike running along the beach of the same name for 3km. The beach is magnificent but above all it is bordered by countless villas without common architecture, the oldest of which date from the end of the 19th century. The Sillon is also known for the spectacle of waves attacking the dike during high tides.

Along the Sillon you will also find many restaurants to take a break with a sea view.
